It seems the new sheriffs in town are hard at work with sweeping the Kaizer Chiefs deadwood, Kaizer Chiefs had a busy Wednesday as they parted ways with no fewer than seven players and a member of their technical team.
Amakhosi were expected to get rid of players who either contributed less to the team in the last few seasons or are no longer in the plans of the technical team.
And the broom almost swept clean on the day as the likes of Lazarous Kambole, Daniel Cardoso, Daniel Akpeyi, Lebogang Manyama, Leonardo Castro, Kearyn Baccus and Samir Nurkovic were all let go.
Those are they players who spent three or more seasons with Chiefs without giving them something tangible in terms of trophies.
Goalkeeper coach Lee Baxter was also released as Chiefs decided against renewing his contract following the arrival of Aubrey Mathibe as the new man in charge of training the shot-stoppers.
On the other hand, Chiefs confirmed placing Anthony Akumu on the transfer list as he still has a year left on his current deal.
Now, Chiefs have already acquired the services of THREE players in Siyethemba Sithebe, Ashley du Preez and Zitha Kwinika.
